Maternity and Paternity Leave

Maternity / Paternity Leave cannot be counted towards your training and will therefore extend your certification date. This also applies to shared parental leave and adoption leave.

If you are planning on going out of programme for Maternity / Paternity Leave, you must let the JCST know. We will require:

• Written confirmation from your Deanery confirming the exact start and end dates of this period of leave

This is so that your certification date can be extended accordingly.

Your Maternity / Paternity Leave dates must not include any annual leave as this counts towards your training time.

All trainees who are out of programme (not counting towards training time) are eligible for a training fee reduction, should they wish to use their ISCP account during this period. Please see further information here.
